The VIDA Transcoder is a network product that uses standard off-the-shelf components and sophisticated digital voice coding software to allow customers to deploy a VIDA network using multiple air interfaces and digital voice formats. The VIDA Transcoder supports design flexibility in providing best available audio quality to dispatcher and delivers a high-throughput, server-based design. The VIDA Transcoder supports OpenSky® P25 Phase 1 and Phase 2 as well as the ADPCM vocoder. It is key to supporting L3Harris’ Enhances Dynamic Dual Mode technology for customers requiring simultaneous support for Phase 1 and Phase 2 operations.
Options
In a VIDA Enterprise system, the VIDA Transcoder is deployed on its own server. In VIDA Foundation and VIDA Premier Systems it runs as an application on the VIDA Application Server (VAS). View the VIDA® Transcoder on the Harris website.
